Mardi Gras!

Mardi_gras_21607_011 How many schools can boast a real Mardi Gras parade?  We had one pass through our halls just this morning!  Marlo Gonyea (pictured at left with the lovely hat) teaches French and Origins of Language at Dodgen.  Her students assembled in the cafeteria at 10:00am and treated the entire school to a taste of Mardi Gras - Dodgen style.  They paraded through the halls as students lined up to watch.  Great job Ms. Gonyea and foreign language students! French Language Competition

Congratulations to Ms. Marlo Gonyea and seven of her French language students.  They participated in a competition today at Kennesaw State University.  Amy, Nicolle, Kevin, Krystal, Robert, Natalie, and  Endia recited poetry using the French language.  Each student received a superior rating!  I enjoyed being on hand to witness this event, and am very proud of our students and Ms. Gonyea!  Great job!

Latin Class

Several Dodgen MS students were enrolled in the high school Latin class that was offered at Walton HS before school hours this year.  They recently took the National Latin Exam along with over seventy other high school students.  Sixteen of these high school students received a gold medal for their performance.  I am proud to announce that three of those sixteen were Dodgen Middle School students!  Congratulations Aaron, Edna, and Jamie!
