This week is dedicated to persuasion and persuasive writing. After covering the notes at the beginning of the week, partners will choose a controversial topic to research. Most students have signed up for a topic. I tried to post topics, but wasn't able. We will go over this on Monday. The activity will culminate in a Powerpoint presentation about the topic and their stance. Please search for any information about your topic and print it out (statistics, professionals quotes, etc). It's important that you discern whether the source is reliable. If you have questions about this, please let me know on Monday. Please refer to the presentations covering the notes. Also, please come to class with the proper materials each day. There are a large number of students that are consistently without a pencil, paper, or their LA binders.
