Welcome back seventh graders! I am glad to see that you are checking the weblog. Please bookmark this site for daily reference. At this site you will find important daily class news and information. You will often be able to download notes, class work, or homework here. The most important items this week are to create a Language Arts notebook and bring a hard cover composition book. We will be discussing this in class, but if you need a refresher, here's what you'll need: A three-ring binder with the following 3 sections divided: Grammar, Writing, and Literature.
Our first unit deals with figurative language. As you will see, generally homework assignments will be started in class and will be denoted in red below.

Here's our schedule for this week:
MON. Beginning of the year preparation, class routines, and activity, "What is a proverb?" There will be a quick crossword puzzle for review. Need review? Download Proverbs Homework: organize your notebook! Don't forget to get a hard cover composition book by Friday
TUE. Finding the difference between "literal" and "figurative" meaning. Homework: complete the proverb sheet that we began in class. Download Proverb Sheet
WED. D.O.L., review proverb worksheet, select the best proverb that you've created and publish with an illustration. HW: complete proverb illustration if necessary
THU. D.O.L., Begin baseline writing sample (this will be in personal narrative format). HW: hard cover composition notebook due tomorrow ***baseline is to be completed at school only**
FRI. D.O.L., Complete baseline writing sample HW: Bring a photo of yourself to add to your journal : )
