         This is our final full week of seventh grade!  We will complete publishing of our drafted poems at the beginning of the week and then present our poems for the remainder of the week.  The last day to publish poems in class is Tuesday.  Be sure you bring a flash drive on Tuesday in case you aren't finished.  Presentations begin on Wednesday.  Here is the schedule:

May 16-20 Literacy App. Assignments

         This week we will conclude Oddballs and begin to read/perform a few plays from the book Seven Plays of Mystery and Suspense.  It is our last full week and it is crucial that you update your reading log by this Thursday as this is the final day to update this nine week period.  Here is our tentative schedule for the week:

MON.  Oddballs Quiz,  Begin "Heat Lightning" in Seven Plays of Mystery and Suspense  HW: none

TUE.  Complete "Heat Lightning" and begin "I Shot an Arrow"  HW: none

WED.  Quiz over first two plays,  Begin "The Monkey's Paw"  HW: make sure your reading log is signed to update in class if necessary

THU.  Complete "The Monkey's Paw"  HW: Bring silent reading book

May 9-13 Language Arts Assignments

          We have completed our study of Greek Mythology and will begin our final unit this year!  Our focus for the final weeks is poetry.  Students will receive a packet with instructions, examples, and formatting tips.  The final product will be a Powerpoint poetry presentation.  Each day we will introduce a few types of poems from all over the world.  Be sure that you have completed the required poems each day.  If you need help, please take advantage of the World of Poetry ppt shown below.  Here's the schedule:

      We are continuing Oddballs this week.  Be sure you have your novel response folder with you.  You will also need your Rev It Up workbooks on Wednesday and Thursday.  Don't forget that you must have a total of six new books read this nine weeks and the deadline is May 19th.  Here is our tentative schedule for the week:

May 2-6 Language Arts Assignments

       This is the final week of our study of Greek mythology.  The focus will be on a group created board game that has a mythological theme.  Each group will need either a posterboard or an actual board game board that can be temporarily covered with construction paper.  Once your group has divided the work, you must be sure to keep up with your portion of the project.  Our schedule will also be altered on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday because of the Olympics.  Here is the schedule for the week:

MON.  Greek mythology game board project guidelines, group draft of project   HW: bring necessary materials for game board

TUE.   Prepare game board, questions, game pieces, and instructions  HW: bring any necessary materials for group game

           This week we will continue with Oddballs and our response to the novel.  We will also be finishing our study of Lesson #15 vocabulary in Rev It Up.  Please be sure to review both the definitions and spellings for each word.  Also, remember that your goal is a total of six new books for this nine week period.  Record them when you finish and update the reading log on the computer on Fridays.  The last day to enter books is May 20th.  Here's the schedule:
