Jan. 24-28 Language Arts Assignments

      Last week we covered direct and indirect objects.  This week we continue or study of complements by looking at predicate nominatives (PN) and predicate adjectives (PA).  We will have a quiz on Friday covering PNs and PAs.  It is critcal that students take advantage of review materials below if they need extra help. The seventh grade will also be administering a practice writing test on Wednesday.

We will begin our unit on expository writing this week.  Expository writing is, in very simple terms, a means of explaining a topic thoroughly.  The main focus this week will be creating your own "How To" expository paper.  You will receive notes and a packet to guide you this week.  You will be asked to list steps accurately and thoroughly to teach the class how to do/create something.  Here's more information and the week's schedule:

Jan. 4-7 Literacy App. Assignments

  Welcome back to school and to Language Arts Literacy Application!  In order to be successful and enjoy this nine weeks in reading the following tips are recommended:

1.  Always bring your Rev It Up workbook (We use it almost daily and have vocabulary tests on Mondays)

2.  Always bring your journal (We will create this on Monday - You will need to have approx. 10 pages of loose-leaf paper to create this)

3.  Keep up with your reading assignments, preparation for vocabulary/spelling tests, and projects

4.  Make sure you are keeping up with the reading log in your agenda.  Record books as soon as you have completed them.  They will then need a signature and then be added to your reading documentation spreadsheet on the computer at school.  You must read a total of 6 new books this nine weeks.
