Apr. 28 - May 2 Language Arts Assignments

     This week we will be continuing CRCT testing and continuing our study of Greek myths and mythology.  We will be gaining more background information on mythology in order to create our on board games. *Reminder*  Please check i-Parent frequently as we have quite a few students with missing work.  Here's the schedule:

MON.   CRCT Science, Greek Mythology Activity

TUES.  CRCT Social Studies, Outline myth board game project, Groups (2-3 students) receive file folders for game boards

WED.   Work on Mythology game board

THUR.  Complete work on Mythology game board

FRI.     Play in groups with student created game boards

Apr. 21-25 Language Arts Assignments

       We have quickly arrived upon CRCT week.  This week will begin with a continued cumulative review of literature terms.  Students will create a review activity based on literature terms provided to them on Friday.  This activity will be given to a partner to complete on Tuesday.  Students will need there literature textbooks on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Mon.    Students will create either a crossword (minimum of 15 clues)or word search (minimum of 25 clues) that incorporates literature terms received on Friday.  Extra credit will be given to those who choose the crossword as their activity.  Both activities will require a sheet to be completed by a partner and a key for the creator of the activity. HW: Complete Word Search or Crossword Puzzle with answer key for class tomorrow

April 21-25 Reading Assignments

          We will once again return to the land of The Hobbit once we have completed the Lesson #14 Spelling/Vocabulary test.  Students must remember to stay on target for their "Books Batted In" total.  The 4 1/2 week check point is Wednesday.  Each student's total should be at or above 21 books.  Here's the plan:

MON.    Complete the Lesson #14 Vocabulary/Spelling Test, Review Ch#8 in the Hobbit

TUES.   Read Ch #9 in The Hobbit

WED.    Read Ch #10 in The Hobbit

THU.   Quiz over Chapters 6-10 in The Hobbit

FRI.      SILENT READING/ Books Batted In

Apr. 14-18 Language Arts Assignments

        This week we will continue our preparations for next week's CRCT test.  It will be a combination of grammar and literature study.  Please study the CRCT vocabulary packets and become familiar with ALL the terms in both the grammar and literature packets.  We will be reading both short and long passages in class.  If you have been or will be absent, please ask for a copy to take home for make-up work.  Just a reminder - please keep current with all assignment grades on i-Parent. We have experienced some difficulties with the OAS testing and have extended the due date for OAS Language Arts Test #1,#2,#3, and #4 to Friday.  Here's the tentative schedule:

MON.    OAS Testing in Computer Lab - Take Language Arts Tests #1-4 Complete these tests at home.  Tests #1-4 are due by Friday.  HW: CRCT Review #1 (started in class)

Apr. 14-18 Reading Assignments

       This week we will be continuing our journey through "Middle Earth" with the Hobbit.  Students have already completed reading through chapter 5 ("Out of the Frying Pan Into the Fire").  We will also review vocabulary for words from Lesson #14.  Our Lesson #14 vocabulary/spelling test will be on Monday, April 21.   Here's this week's schedule:
