Dear Parents and students,

  This is the week to get your Novel Reading Log up to date. . Add all you reading pages for this quarter. Don’t forget to get a parent signature. I will be taking the total s this week. Don’t worry, you may still add to your  log up to the end of the year.

 

Because last week was so unusual, we were not able to follow the plan that was posted. We will be very busy getting caught up this week.

 For the remainder of the semester, we will be reading The Incredible Journey as a novel study. This book will be read aloud in class.

Classical Roots Chapter 11 will be studied this week in class.

Chap. 11 Classical Roots Test has been moved to next week (May 11). Students need to study their vocabulary each day. Chapter 12 test is scheduled for May 18.

NOTE:  For the remainder of the semester, we will be reading John Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men as a novel study. This book will be read aloud with the class. Students are expected to bring their copies of the novel to class every day in order to follow along with the reading and answer questions pertaining to each chapter. Students have been given folders in which to keep all materials relating to the novel study.

•  This is  CRCT week and we are excited about how prepared we are this year. Our students have worked hard this year. Our students are prepared for the CRCT and will make a great showing.

• Our class times have been adjusted to accommodate the morning tests.

•This week we will preview John Steinbeck's novel  OF MICE AND MEN in class. Each day's reading will be followed by an activity. We will study the authors themes and his style of writing , We will consider how the authors environment affected what he wrote as well as what influence his writing has had on society.

•         CRCT DAILY HOMEWORK

•Eat a nourishes breakfast every morning.

•Make sure to get a restful nights sleep.

•Bring two #2 pencils to school each day (sharpened if possible)

•Bring a good book to read during the test breaks
