HAPPY SUMMER!!!

Sun Dear everyone,

Thank you for a fantastic year!!!  You all were truly a wonderful group and made my year so enjoyable!  I hope you enjoyed your sixth grade year as well.  I know you guys are all so well-prepared for 7th grade...please come back to visit me next year!  Have an amazing summer and stay safe  :)

LAST CALL FOR 2 STAMPS...

***Remember that you may ONLY bring your lunch tomorrow -- NOTHING ELSE, including your bookbag, paper, a pencil, etc.  You will get your yearbook and a Sharpie tomorrow  :)

GOT BOOKS?

***CALLING ANY BOOKS!!!  If you have any books that you no longer want, PLEASE bring them to donate for candy!  I am getting closer to my goal of filling up the bookcase!

***Bring limited supplies and items with you tomorrow!  Everything MUST go home with you TOMORROW!  Nothing may be brought with you to school on Friday!

LANGUAGE ARTS:  Today we went through your 20 questions presentations and also viewed some more footage from your top 10 tips!  We then went outside for a closing feathercircle activity.  Also, a BIG thanks to all the parents who sent in food for 1st and 6th periods for our competition celebrations!  NO HOMEWORK!

READING:  Today you turned in your collage and took the vocabulary 9 test!  NO HOMEWORK!

!!! BOOKS, LATE WORK, STAMPS, AND FOOD !!!

IMPORTANT REMINDER #1:  Bring books!!!  I am offering candy to anyone who brings a book (or 2 or 3 or more!) to donate to my classroom library.  My goal is to fill up my entire bookshelf for next year, so please take a look around your room for any books you no longer wish to own  :)

IMPORTANT REMINDER #2:  All late work is due TOMORROW.  After tomorrow, I will not accept any late work, and therefore it will not make it onto your report card grade.

IMPORTANT REMINDER #3:  Make sure to bring 2 stamps to your homeroom teacher so that your report card can be mailed home to you!

IMPORTANT REMINDER #4:  We will have the Monkey Madness Competition celebrations for 1st period (runner-up) and 6th period (first place) TOMORROW!  Bring your food!!!

LANGUAGE ARTS:  Today we went to the computer lab again, and you finished your 20 questions type of activity which you'll share with the class tomorrow.  NO HOMEWORK but please pay special attention to the reminders above!

READING:  Today you worked on your collage for vocabulary unit 9.  HOMEWORK is to finish your collage and study for your test tomorrow!

BEING FLEXIBLE WITH THE FOOTAGE

GRADES ALERT:  At this point, EVERYTHING that has been turned into me is graded and updated on i-Parent.  Please check if you have any missing assignments and turn those in ASAP -- I will not accept any late assignments after Wednesday.

COMING UP WITH YOUR TOP 10 LIST...

LANGUAGE ARTS:  Today you began your video group assignment (Download Top 10 List Video).  You will be working on this in class for the next four days and presenting next year.  Hopefully it will be a great way to wind down the school year!  HOMEWORK is to finish the survey from yesterday and bring in books to donate if you have any!

READING:  Today you worked on your Maniac Magee projects, and they are due tomorrow.  HOMEWORK is to finish your projects and wear/bring your tennis shoes for the race tomorrow!

WHAT DO YOU *REALLY* THINK ABOUT MY CLASS?

LANGUAGE ARTS:  Today you had an opportunity to share your folktale projects, and then you turned them in!  I can't wait to see everything you all created  :)  Afterwards, you worked on a rather lengthy survey for me so that I can make adjustments for next year -- I appreciate your honest feedback!  Lastly, you chose your groups for your final project of the school year (more details to come tomorrow)!  NO HOMEWORK but please take a look around your house for any BOOKS you no longer want!

FINISHING THE FOLKTALE PROJECTS -- DUE TOMORROW

Garfield LANGUAGE ARTS:  Today you had the entire class period to finish up your folktale projects.  HOMEWORK is to finish them so that they are ready to turn in TOMORROW!!!  Remember that you will present at least two of your projects.  Also, you'll need to have the yellow paper to turn in tomorrow as well...in case you need another one:  Download Folktale Activities
