Foreign Language Study

Attached to this posting is a brochure about the benefits of foreign language study.  Students who plan to participate in sports in any NCAA college, are expected to take 2 years of the same foreign language "under the roof" of their high school.  This means that students who will have already completed 1 year of foreign language in middle school, will need to complete a 3rd year in high school.

Preparing for the CRCTs

There are two very useful websites for preparation for the CRCTs.  One is www.usatestprep.com .  Eighth grade students were provided with a sticker to place in their agendas containing the username and password for this website.

The other website is provided through the Cobb County School District PICASSO portal.  This website is Skills Tutor. Once into the PICASSO portal. 1. click on the maroon words read more in left column  2. click on our school name 3. log in using the student first name last name together in lowercase letters 4.insert the password.  (If this is the first time signing in to skills tutor, do not insert a password...you will be asked to verify your name and then create a password.)

Career Cruising and Language Arts

This week, the students in Mrs. Thompson's and Mrs. Barzegar's Language Arts classes learned about writing resumes using the Career Cruising Portfolio tool. Career Cruising can be accessed at www.careercruising.com. Our username is the school name and the password is our mascot (all typed in lowercase letters).

Career Cruising is a useful website, when exploring careers, planning high school courses, searching for financial aid and writing resumes. Students have a powerful tool here!
