5th grade Parent Orientation May 4, 2009

Dear Parents of Future 6th graders:

Parent Orientation is May 4, 2009, with the general meeting beginning at 6:30 PM in the Dodgen Theater. At 5:45 PM there are two parent informational meetings: Special Education (Academy lab) and Advanced Learning Program (Cafeteria). There will also be a book fair with summer reading selections.

This orientation is intended for parents only. After the general meeting parents will have an opportunity to meet with 3 different groups: 6th grade teachers, Music Department and Connections/Health teachers.  We look forward to seeing you tonight.

Dodgen Welcomes Future 6th graders

Dear Future Dodgen Sixth Graders and Parents,

We extend a warm welcome to you as new members of the Dodgen “Family”.

During the next few months and throughout the summer we will be involved in preparing for the opening of the 2009-2010 school year.  This will be a special time for us.

In preparing for your sixth grade year, we look forward to visitation days from the feeder schools.  The dates are:

March 25- Kincaid ES 9:15-11:00

April 1-    Murdock ES 9:15-11:00

April 3-    Mt. Bethel and East Side ES 9:15-11:00

May 11 - I will visit Timber Ridge ES

Parents, please be advised that effective July 1, 2007 for entrance into grade six (6), students are required to have a total of

two (2) doses of measles vaccine,

two (2) doses of mumps vaccine,

one (1) dose of rubella vaccine and two (2) doses of varicella (chickenpox) vaccine.

Students must have these immunizations marked COMPLETE FOR SCHOOL ATTENDANCE on a

Georgia

form 3231.  Please be sure your child’s immunizations are up to date prior to exiting fifth grade.
